Our summaries employ abduction, do not require any prior training or ontologies, are generated based on semantic significance, and DO NOT USE WORD-FREQUENCY AT ALL, which is a risky strategy because significant content may not be stated frequently enough and may be overlooked by traditional methods.

It is worth noting that if there are many sentences with roughly the same meaning (subject to an equivalence measure specified by the user), our summarising system only shows one of them, resulting in far more powerful summaries than previous approaches.

Our method involves simplification, followed by the generation of an ideogram (graphical pictures or symbols that represent an idea or concept) for each sentence, the generation of a volume of interest around the sequence produced by the first document, and the inclusion in the summary of any sentences from other documents that fall within this volume; i.e. offer additional knowledge and are relevant.
